Rome Art And Community Center has been awarded a $9,000 grant from the Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties to directly fund the upcoming Dinosaurs ROCK exhibit.

The exhibit will showcase genuine dinosaur specimens including bones, fossils, gems, minerals and more.

Rivaling those seen in the Museum of Natural History, the show features five separate exhibits, including specimen from the Prehistorichttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif Seas and Ice Age, along with an outstanding array of dinosaur skulls, bones and fossils. Included in the show are giant T-Rex and Triceratops specimens.

"We are so proud and delighted to partner with the Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties to present this world-class Dinosaur Exhibit," said Lauren Marie Getek, RACC executive director.

"I truly feel our community has never seen anything like this so close to home before, and we are ecstatic to afford this area an opportunity to see real dinosaurs up close and personal," she said. " These are not animatronics or look-alikes, we are bringing in the real thing."

The Dinosaurs ROCK exhibit will be on display at the art center, 308 W. Bloomfield St., from Friday through Sunday, Sept. 16-18.
